EXOTIC-WENGE
The urns in the "Corinth" series are
crafted of non-endangered exotic wood using fundamental techniques. The particular wood
species is wenge (pronounced WINGeee) which is indigenous to Africa and noted for its
dense grain pattern and dark brown color; Concentric rings are cut in the sizes and angles
required to achieve the overall shape. They are joined together and then meticulously
hand-sanded to their luxuriously smooth texture. The pieces are not stained; they are
sealed with five coats of urethane topped by a final application of paste wax. No color or
grain pat-terns are ever identical.
