DOMESTIC & EXOTIC
The urns in the "Olympia" series are crafted of domestic and non-endangered
exotic woods using inlaid and fundamental techniques. Exotic wood species are purpleheart
inlaid with yellowheart; domestic wood species are cherry inlaid with black walnut.
Concentric rings are cut in the sizes and angles required to achieve the overall shape. They are joined together and meticulously hand-sanded to a luxuriously smooth texture. The pieces are not stained; they are sealed with five coats of urethane and a final application of paste wax. No color or grain patterns are ever identical.
