GLASS-HANDBLOWN
The "Artemis" series features handblown glass pieces crafted in the American Art Nouveau style that became popular in the 7920's. Such glass is characterized by its alluring iridescent colors and the light reflecting qualities of its surface texture. Artemis was the goddess of the moon in Greek mythology, thus, the lunar appearance of this finish justifies the name of this series.
Glass items were made in the Egyptian culture nearly four thousand years ago. In the Roman Empire, the art of handblowing glass was perfected.
The iridescent fumed glass obtains its colors and texture from the application of crystalline silver on the molten glass.
